Taking thingsapart, since 2007

  1. 2007

    Born in the Netherlands. Allegedly already unhappy with the hospital's wayfinding.

  2. 2014

    Takes the family printer apart to see where the letters come from. It never prints again. Worth it.

  3. 2018

    Discovers right-click → Inspect. The internet stops being television and becomes LEGO.

  4. 2020

    Lockdown. Everyone bakes bread; Sam builds fan sites for games nobody plays anymore and learns the one lesson that stuck: shipping beats perfect.

  5. 2022

    A first pair of beat-up runners gets stripped, painted and sealed at the kitchen table. 1550creative is born — quality, no quantity, from day one.

  6. 2023

    First drops sell out. First time seeing a stranger wear something that started as a sketch. Still the best feeling available.

  7. 2024

    First paid website. Reads the client's thank-you email roughly forty times.

  8. 2025

    Goudbeek becomes real: one person, the whole studio. Design, code, deploys, invoices — all of it, on purpose.

  9. 2026

    The site grows into a building with departments — a Library, two shops, and this room. You're standing in it.
